English communication in Graz, Austria
Teacher colleagues and English learners, I just wanted to let you know about an upcoming talk for teachers and non-teachers alike at the International Women’s Association!
Spotlight on Learning Styles with Marjorie Rosenberg
Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm
IWA general meeting
Have you ever wondered why learning sometimes seems easy and sometimes more difficult? This may depend partially on your particular learning style. Come along to this presentation to find out how you tend to perceive and process information as well as how you react in a learning situation. I will start with some of the background information to learning styles theory and then we will take a look at the questionnaires developed to determine learning style preferences. The talk will finish up with strategies helpful to the different learner types and a discussion of how to move out of your own personal ‘comfort zone’ in order to expand your capabilities when tackling a new language or other task.
Marjorie Rosenberg teaches at the language institute at the University of Graz and is active as a teacher trainer and presenter at conferences throughout Europe. She has written a number of books on business English for Cambridge University Press, Pearson and Cengage-National Geographic. This talk will be based on her book ‘Spotlight on Learning Styles’ in the teacher development series by Delta Publishing.
